July 6th - Lunch!
This June Bug was almost dead, and the ants were all over him like white on rice. I shot a few pics of it, then put the poor thing out of it's misery, so the ants could get on with their meal. 3 hours later, all evidence of this horrible incident was completely gone! It was like it never happened.
Poor, poor bug. :(
I hope you don't think I'm morbid. :P

Morbid, very morbid...lol. But at least you did the right thing and put it out of it's misery.
'...like white on rice...'! Ha! I have never heard that one before. Heard of flies on sh*t and other such, but not white on rice. Love it. So very... apt! Very morbid but a good story about how nature cleans up after herself. If the ants never made it disappear, imagine how many dead bugs there would be mounting up in the world!?!? Well spotted shot!
Well I suppose it might be lunch for the likes of ants and phrogs!
Ants are fascinating little creatures aren't they!
I'm still waiting for them to discover the blue jelly bean I've put outside for them!
Not morbid it all, it's just dinner for them. That's just the way of nature. Your macros look very good.
What a weird looking bug! I've never seen a bug with a furry belly like that. Nice find. :D
Your heart is even more tender than I thought, feeling sorry for a little bug. :) Quite fascinating shot, away from the expected. Great way to stretch your boundaries.
Thank you for doing the humane thing, and for doing it AFTER you took the pictures. :D
