January 27th - Poisonous Mushroom
Look what I found under a tree, today! I found it in Carmel Valley, while taking photos of horses. I couldn't get close enough to the horses to get a decent shot, but when I turned around, this huge mushroom (a good 5-6 inches across, at least!) was shouting at me, "Take my picture, take my picture!" :)

I've never seen a mushroom that colorful and vibrant! Im glad he "spoke" to you!
P.S. I enjoyed your shot from yesterday, and loved your story.
Times really have changed..! :(
That was very nice of the mushroom to be so accomodating wasn't it! And a very fine mushroom it is too - albeit poisonous!
No, I think it was a tiny elf that was doing the shouting, everyone knows that mushrooms can't talk.
Deadly looking with all that red but you did a great job of finding it just for this contest.
It's gorgeous in colour and definitely warning you not to touch or eat it. I'm pretty sure it's called Fly Agaric.
What a fantastic shot of it! Well done.
Mmmmmm Deathcap! Tasty... ;-)
Great picture.
Wow! What a great specimine! Wonderful color and so unusual. I don't think I have seen one in person.
Great mushroom! If you photoshop you could use it to make a wonderful home for some fairies or elves.
That looks like something the giant caterpillar would be sitting on in Alice in Wonderland. Great shot of a great find!
