July 19th - Red Minor Tetra

Here's a Red Minor Tetra, from my tank. I finally think I figured out how to photograph my fish! :D

Just in case you're interested: I used my macro filters and turned on the flash. I thought they'd freak out about the flash, but, actually more fish came over to investigate, and they seemed to like it! So weird.

Anyway, isn't s/he just a pretty little thing? :)

I was working on borders again (how else am I gonna learn?), and decided circular borders are way tougher than I expected! I'm really just not all that pleased with what I was able to do. So, I went online (google) and found a porthole to put around the little guy, and I think it turned out great!

Beautiful capture of the fish. It's as though he/she was just posing quietly, waiting for the photo shoot!

Wonderful idea with the porthole and great shot with the tetra. I'd have expected some light reflection from the glass because of the flash but you shot it very well :)

Like whalelight I'm surprised the flash didn't reflect in the glass. Great capture.

Great shot of the fish and a wonderful idea to do it through a porthole. Interesting how the fish like the flash!

The porthole looks very natural, I thought it was part of your tank (!).
You managed to take very cool pics of fish and other wateranimals in this challenge.
Someone once told me to avoid (direct)flash if you can on any kind of animal so I'm surprised your fish liked the flash.

This is such a great shot, the porthole centered in the black, and a nice, bright fish! Perfect!
